Hall of Fame Game 2022

Published

on

The Hall Of Fame Game is here. It’s still a very hot and humid summer. The leaves are still a bright green, there is no fall mist or a cool autumn breeze flowing through the air. It may not feel like football season but the NFL and football is finally here.

There is something special about football season that’s incomparable. The sounds of helmet and shoulder pads clashing. The strong competitive nature during the game between the Offensive line and D-line. The play calling chess match between the two coaching staffs. Yes, I love basketball and baseball is cool too, but football just feels different and gives me a comfort that no other sports does. I will watch every football game on TV, even if it’s not my team playing just to watch the sport. Of Course my team is the Dallas Cowboys, you can read my blog about my team here.

The Game

So today, August 4th, 2022 is the first game of NFL action since the Super Bowl. The Hall Of Fame game is here between Jacksonville Jaguars and Las Vegas Raiders. I get my football snack ready with soda and water, ready to watch the first game of the year. As I waited with great anticipation, there’s a rain delay. Fortunately during the delay they played highlights of the Hall of Fame inductees. Just having football back brings a familiar warm feeling.

Forty minutes after the delay, the game starts. The sounds of the games, the commentary, the sidelines interviews. it’s all there as the Raiders start off the game 3-0 against the Jags. Raiders looking pretty good. Even though I know neither of these teams are playing their full starting rosters. By Halftime the Raiders led 20-0. The Jags were struggling to move the ball on the Raiders defense and by the end of the third quarter they scored a field goal, making the score 20-3.

Although this wasn’t the most competitive game, but having football back gives us sports fan a big smile on our faces. The final score of the game was Raiders 27, Jaguars 11. Let me know your thoughts on the first game of the year. Why do you love football? Leave a comment below.
