Deshaun Watson suspended 6 Games

Published

on

Today the NFL suspended Cleveland Brown quarterback Deshaun Watson for 6 games for violating its Personal Conduct Policy. This is the aftermath of the 30 allegations of sexual misconduct. Watson recently signed a $230 million dollar contract with the Browns where he got a $44.9 million dollar signing bonus. Can or will the Browns void the contract or the signing bonus? Where does this leave Watson and Cleveland after the suspension?

There are a lot more questions that needs to be asked about this suspension. Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott also served a 6 game suspension in which he had a sexual misconduct case with only one defendant. Watson on the other hand had 30 cases in where the victims had similar situations. Was Watsons suspension to light or was Elliotts suspension to heavy? Some would say if the NFL had came down harder on Watson that the NFLPA would sue the NFL which would drag out the process. So in order to save the headache and the image of the league, Roger Goodell would rather take these 6 games, than a full season.

What are your thoughts on this? Should the league be more harsh on Watson or do you think its a fair suspension? Leave your comments below.

Cowboys Grit Through Back-to-Back Wins

Published

on

The Dallas Cowboys pulled off back-to-back gritty wins, defeating the Giants 20-15 in Week 4 and securing a last-second 20-17 victory over the Steelers in Week 5. In both games, Dak Prescott had his ups and downs, starting slow against the Steelers with two interceptions but delivering when it mattered most, leading two late touchdown drives, including the game-winner to Jalen Tolbert. Despite missing key defensive players, Dallas held Justin Fields and the Steelers to 17 points.

Looking Ahead to Week 6 vs. the Lions:

The Cowboys face a tough matchup against a high-powered Lions offense led by Jared Goff and a dynamic rushing attack. Detroit’s offensive line is one of the best in the league, making it crucial for Dallas’ pass rush, even with injuries, to find ways to disrupt the rhythm.

Defensive Adjustments:
Coach Mike McCarthy and defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer will need to focus on:

  • Run Defense: Contain the Lions’ ground game, especially against their explosive running backs.
  • Secondary Play: Tighten up coverage to limit big plays from Detroit’s playmakers like Amon-Ra St. Brown.
  • Health Monitoring: Navigating key injuries will be critical. Depth players will need to step up, especially in the secondary.

Offensive Adjustments:

  • Early Consistency: Dak needs to avoid early-game turnovers to prevent the team from playing from behind.
  • Run-Game Balance: Establish the run early to control the clock and keep Detroit’s offense off the field.
  • Utilizing Weapons: Spread the ball among playmakers like CeeDee Lamb and Jalen Tolbert, who’s building chemistry with Dak after the Steelers game-winning catch.

The Cowboys will need a complete team effort and sharp adjustments to secure a win in Detroit, a team that is clicking offensively this season.
